1-11 plus 2 taps on the Apt. fire.
While we were OOS for programming of our new radios in the pumper, a box dropped for a apt fire a couple miles from the district house and just down the road from 75′s. 75′s reported a visible column from the station. D83 called for a 1-11 once he took command.
E75 went on location with heavy fire in a 2 story wood frame apt. With lines being pulled and the L75 getting the roof, the fire was making way up the side and into the attic space. With all crews working and a fast moving fire, D83 pulled 2 taps on the fire. With the main body of fire knocked down, fire was moving up the walls and the outside walls to the second floor. Crews were able to open up and knock down the fire.
About 25 minutes passed and the fire was finally under control. All while we sat and listened and pouted.

First multiple alarm fire of the new year.
Our first 3 -11 was dropped this year at a apartment complex in south west Houston. It was said the fire started in a bottom floor business and then spread quickly from there. It was reported that a person was trapped but during the primary and secondary no one was found.
A fast attack was initiated by E60 and as crews began to arrive the fire grew faster. D28 then called for a defensive fire to get it in check before going back to a interior attack.
